Nick Flack inspired Chirk to victory with a match-winning ton at Davenport Park.
Hosts Worfield chose to bat and posted a useful 207-5 off 45 overs, Charlie Callaghan making 68 and Harvey Sage 63, while Luke Gardner claimed 3-54 for the visitors.
Chirk looked to be in trouble at 107-4 after last year’s star batsman Andrew Swarbrick departed for nine, but Flack was still there.
And Flack was also at the crease come the end of the contest as the travellers made it to 209-6 in the 43rd over.
Flack hit a brilliant 118 not out off just 96 balls, with 16 fours and five sixes.
A captain’s knock of 41 from Nigel Davies helped Chirk seconds to a first win of the season in a low-scoring thriller against Coton Hall at Holyhead Road.
Put into bat, the North Wales side could only muster 116 all out off 37.4 overs, the total including 39 invaluable extras.
Apart from opener Davies, the only other double-figure contributor was Dale Randall (13).
Aiden Rich (3-14), Dan Thomas (3-19) and Josh Dawson (3-22) shared the wickets for the visitors.
Coton Hall were then dismissed for 107, despite 36 from opener Aaron Jones and a spirited 30 down the order by Rich.
Chirk’s Martin Wright starred with the ball, scooping 4-24 off 10 overs, Randall bagging 2-26 and Jack Morris 2-29.
