They are going up, say they are going up….🎺🎺🥁🥁
Bodedern Athletic received the news they have been yearning for today – they are promoted to the Ardal North West League next season after successfully applying for a Tier 3 licence.
Ricky Williams’ Green Army have had a remarkable 2021-22 campaign, becoming inaugural champions of the Tier 4 North Wales Coast West Premier Division.
They clinched the title with a stunning record of 26 wins and a draw in their first 27 matches, scoring 125 goals and topping the UK-wide Global League Stats table after winning 18 games in a row.
One concern the club had was meeting the stricter criteria needed to compete in Tier 3, but a magnificent effort by volunteers has got Cae Ty Cristion up to the required standard, the work done including a pitch extension and rebuilt paths and dugouts.
Bodedern Athletic recently stated on social media: “We are incredibly lucky to have amazing volunteers, friends and businesses that have helped us reach our goal.”
Boded has a good track record at Tier 3. They won the Welsh Alliance League in 2004/05 and have competed as high as Tier 2 in the past.
I’m made up that we’re back in Tier 3. My players deserve the plaudits as they’ve delivered on the pitch. To beat Bangor 1876 for the league title with the resources they have is an unbelievable achievement.
Not many thought we would last the pace but we knew we were good enough.
We weren’t given a chance pre-season with Bangor and Penrhyndeudraeth. I said in Pentraeth on the first day (3-2 win) that this team wins the league. Special, special bunch. Bring on tier 3!
Secondly I want to thank my committee who have delivered off the pitch. Four weeks to get the pitch ready and it was no bother for them and the volunteers that helped as they have done a magnificent job.
The donations and goodwill gestures we have received has gone a long way. Thank you all that made it happen. We still have a couple of cups to play in, then a well deserved break for a couple of weeks before we do it all again.
The FAW Tier 3 First Instance Body met today (11 May) to consider the Tier 3 Licensing Applications for the 2022/23 season.
The clubs were assessed against a number of infrastructure and personnel criteria.
FAW Tier 3 Licensing is a mandatory requirement for clubs to participate at Tier 3 of the Welsh Football Pyramid for the 2022/23 season in the Ardal Leagues.
Disappointment for Greenfield, who were crowned champions of the Tier 4 North East Wales Premier Division, but the club is awaiting planning permission for a new stand and has exciting future plans in the pipeline.
Great for CPD Y Rhyl 1879, North Wales Coast East Premier Division title winners, who will rise a level at the first attempt.
