NORTH WALES CRICKET LEAGUE REPORTS – DIVISIONS 2-3

SATURDAY, APRIL 30

Division Two

Bethesda continued their flying start to the season with a nine-wicket win at Menai Bridge seconds to make it back-to-back 15-0 victories.

The Anglesey side won the toss, chose to bat, and posted 181-9 off 40 overs, Robert Smith top-scoring with 56, Sam Bixby adding 39 and Dion Owen 34.

Openers Owen and Bixby put on 53 for the first wicket.

For Pesda, Ashley Rowlands claimed 4-35 and Carwyn L Williams 2-26.

Carwyn L Williams then struck an unbeaten 108 as the visitors made it to 182-1 in 37.1, Richie Parry contributing 29 in an opening stand of 137.

Nicholas Parry finished 27 not out as the Ogwen side breezed to victory. Williams hit 15 fours and a six in his 111-ball century.

Gresford 2nds reached a winning 183-6 after restricting visitors Mold 2nds to 181-9.

George Jones made 43 for Mold, Jack Allman with 3-39 for the hosts.

Skipper George Morris starred for Gresford, hitting 98, Keith Embleton 2-7 off eight for the away side.

Captain Haseeb Hanif Bikya hit a crucial 55 for Hawarden Park 2nds in their home six-wicket success against Bersham.

The visitors chalked up 156-8 off 40 overs, Suresh Lakmal Koswaththage making a fine 86, Ahmed Javed 3-31 for the Park.

Hawarden hit back with 157-4 in 35.5, Owen Skillander (35) supporting fellow opener Bikya well, Nilanka De Silva scooping 3-36 for the Colliers.

Clwb Criced Caernarfon celebrated their first win as a Division Two team with a five-wicket triumph at Mochdre 2nds.

Mochdre were all out for 150, young Jac Birch an excellent 4-17 and Llyr Erddyn Davies 3-37 for the visitors, skipper Jon Davies 42 for the hosts.

The Cofis then made it to 152-5 in 31 overs, completing a 13-2 verdict.

Roddy Denton produced a vital 44 not out, Grant Peisley 34.

Northop 2nds edged a thriller at home to St Asaph 2nds by seven runs.

Robert Alderson made 55, Bart Ryan-Beswick 40, Nathan Pierce 35 and Scott Oates 30 no as the Flintshire side totalled 187-7, Elliot Goddard 4-31 for the Saints.

Asaph’s response ended on 180-6, David Lloyd 58, Charlie Williams 53, Oates 3-36 in an 11-4 decision for the hosts.

Ieuan Jones grabbed a dynamic 5-8 in five overs as Carmel bowled out Ruthin for just 69 at the Memorial Fields.

Extras top-scored with 24 as the visitors made it to 70-4 in 23.2 overs, Richard Henderson with 2-25.
