The first-ever North Wales Women’s Cricket League season came to a close in style with a thrilling Hundred game between champions Bethesda and a NWWCL representative side.
The match was played at Bethesda’s Parc Villa ground, with the League’s side made up of representatives from Llandudno, Conwy, Northop Hall and Colwyn Bay.
Toss was won by the North Wales League side who opted to field first.
Bethesda made 124 for 5 from 100 balls, Becky Hicks posting 30 not out, Hannah Jones 23, Elin Pritchard 17, Poppy Smith 13 and Emma Jones 11.
For the League, Llinos Hill took 2-10, Sioned Hill 1-6 and Hannah Kennedy 1-14,
In reply, North Wales ended up just short on 121-5 from 100 balls. Laura Nicholls and Hannah Kennedy both scored 26, Laura Lambe 10.
Bethesda bowling: Hannah Jones 3-15, Poppy Smith 1-10, Autumn Schmidt 1-15.
Result: Bethesda yn ennill o 3 rhediad / Bethesda win by 3 runs.
After the match the Bethesda team were presented with the league trophy by organiser Rachel Warrenger, following the Howgets’ unbeaten season.
