Fifth-place Kinmel Bay made it two wins on the bounce with a fine effort against Llanrug at Y Morfa.
Revenge was sweet for the home side as they had gone down 3-1 at Llanrug back in August.
It is interesting to note that Bay Reserves beat Bontnewydd Reserves 2-0 away this month, having lost to the same opponents 8-3 at home in September.
Kinmel also crashed to Llangoed 5-0 last October, but in March defeated the Anglesey side 5-4, so maybe a trend is developing from a continuously improving team.
Saturday’s game was a cracker, with player-manager Will Hughes, assisted by Declan Bellamy, putting the hosts in front in the 65th minute.
The second Bay goal came via Martin King, assisted by team captain and player-coach Jordan Guest.
Sam Griffiths scored Bont’s goal in the 77th minute.
