DIVISION ONE

Llanfairpwll 0 CPD Llannerchymedd 4

Three first-half goals helped Llannerchymedd storm to the Division One summit.

This was a fifth league win on the bounce for Medd, who are shaping nicely for a title push.

Dan Evans was first on the score-sheet after the ball was parried into his path by glovesman Nathan McCarthy from a Mark Jones shot. Evans instantly slotted past the rooted keeper on seven minutes.

The lads from Tan Parc, who were aiming for a sixth consecutive away victory in the league, went two-up just past the half-hour mark.

Gwion Thomas took the ball down on the edge of the box and Geth Davies pounced, curling his effort beyond the closing home defence and into the top corner.

Llan’s third came from what was a bit of a blunder by the home side.

Dan Evans was totally switched on after a tangle of legs between Evans himself and Llanfair captain Dylan Williams.

Keeper McCarthy thought it was a free kick to the home side, dropped the ball to take the kick but Evans had other thoughts.

His quick-thinking outdid everyone as he put the ball in the net. McCarthy looked on in disbelief as the man in the middle blew and pointed to the centre circle.

Medd’s fourth and final goal came from a 20-plus yards rocket from Chris Bennett.

Cemaes Bay 5 CPD Y Fali 1

Third-place Cemaes did all the damage in the first half at School Lane on Friday night.

Matty Reynolds and Geraint Jones both netted two apiece, the latter’s brace including a penalty, while Mathew Roberts also struck to make it 5-0 at the interval.

In a much tighter second period Y Fali managed a late consolation through Cai Miller.

Bethesda Rovers 0 Llanystumdwy 1

Dan Price’s 89th minute net-finder was enough to clinch the points for Llanystumdwy at the bottom side.

Bodorgan 0 Holyhead Town 1

A first half goal from exciting young prospect Chris Hughes following a Kaine Bentley assist clinched the points for the improving Harbourmen.

Hughes made it three goals in two outings when he found the net in the 32nd minute at Cae Cynlas on Friday evening.

CPD Caergybi 1 Talysarn Celts 1

Tom Hadley’s early goal was not enough to seal victory for Caergybi as Llion Jones’ 62nd minute equaliser earned the visitors a point.

CPD Mountain Rangers 1 Llangoed & District 0

Dewi Cooke’s 34th minute effort banked the spoils for Rangers at Cae Gors.

PREMIER DIVISION

Bodedern Athletic 4 Menai Bridge Tigers 1

Asa Thomas edged up to 49 goals for the season with a hat-trick in leaders Bodedern’s home success over Bridge.

Ryan Lees put the table-toppers ahead in the fourth minute, but Jack Hartley levelled on 22 only for Thomas to make it 2-1 after 29.

Two goals in the latter stages made it safe for Boded, Thomas converting a penalty before completing another treble in added time.

Athletic are now five points clear in top spot with the same number of matches played as second-place Bangor 1876.

The two title contenders have five games each left, culminating in a showdown against one another on the final day of the campaign – May 7.

Boded are still unbeaten in the league – a run of 23 matches – and their home record remains immaculate.

CPD Aberffraw 3 CPD Gaerwen 0

Alan Williams, Nathan Moore and John Richard Jones all made the score-sheet as Aberffraw nudged up to ninth place by beating next-to-bottom Gaerwen.

Amlwch Town 0 Llanberis 2

Gethin Jones and Ifan Mansoor notched the crucial goals in Llanberis’ hard-earned victory at Lon Bach.

CPD Nefyn United 2 CPD Pentraeth 0

Fourth-place Nefyn had first half goals from Carl Jones and Josh Piper to thank for seeing off the challenge of basement team Pentraeth.

CPD Pwllheli 4 CPD Mynydd Llandegai 1

Jordan Roberts (2), Steffan Toplis and Iwan Roberts-Jones shared the goals as Pwllheli recovered from going a goal down to defeat Llandegai.

Iwan Morris scored early for the visitors, who had Osian Jones red-carded in the latter stages.
