Well done to Walis Bryncoch – Division Two champions

Walis Bryncoch are confirmed as champions of the Gwynedd and Anglesey Netball League’s Division Two.

Bryncoch finished 10 points clear of runners-up Celts Bach in the final standings.

With Tim o Walis also big contenders for the Division One title, this is turning into an amazing season for the Caernarfon club.

In the North West Wales Junior Netball League there has been a triple success for Walis:

Walis Gwyllt were crowned U-16 champions
Walis Disglair topped the U-15 League
Walis Dre won the U-13 League

And Walis Bach were Under-11 runners-up

(6-8; 15-14; 26-19; 35-23)

Despite losing the first quarter and leading by just a single goal at half time, Bethesda overran their opponents in the last two sessions.

Pwllheli Wildcats 36-13 Walis Difas
(6-1; 14-5; 23-11; 36-13)

The Wildcats were on top from start to finish in this one.

Division One – March 30

Tim o Walis 26-22 Arfon Ladies
(8-7; 12-12; 20-15; 26-22)

The title favourites were pushed hard by multi-time champions Arfon, but in the end Walis prevailed.
The teams were all-square at 12-12 come halfway, but the third quarter went to Walis by a decisive 8-3. Arfon won the last 7-6 but had left themselves with too much to do.

Dolgellau 32-18 Arfon Celts
(7-6; 19-9; 23-14; 32-18)

After a tight opening session, Dolgellau went on to win comfortably, despite Celts edging the third quarter 5-4.
A big 12-3 win in the second segment set up Dolgellau for the victory.

Penygroes Primos 33-23 Pwllheli Panthers
(8-2; 16-9; 26-15; 33-23)

Primos ended the evening still in top spot after building up an 11-goal lead over the first three quarters.
Although Panthers won the last 8-7, it had no effect on the end result.

Menai Mavericks 25-18 Llangefni
(4-3; 10-9; 15-14; 25-18)

This was a great battle in which the Mavericks only clinched the win in the curtain-closer.
At the completion of the first three quarters, Menai only led by one goal, but then dominated the last 10-4 to seal the points. Tremendous effort from Llangefni, though.
