The closing weeks of the Rhyl and District Sunday Football League are upon us – but who will win what?

There are still a handful of clubs in with a chance of the league title, while some mouthwatering cup finals also lie ahead.

THE 2021-22 LEAGUE TITLE RACE

As for the battle to be crowned league champions, it is still wide open.

Conwy Comrades and Royal Oak currently lead the way in the top two positions, but dangers FC Mally and Y Clwb have games in hand.

The Millbank in third are still not out of it, but do face the disadvantage of having the least fixtures left.

The fascinating thing about the race for the title is all teams are vulnerable.

All five top sides have been on good runs, but also suffered the odd shock defeat along the way. No-one has run away with it.

Purely on current form, it is hard to look beyond FC Mally, who have a remarkable fourth quadruple in their sights, a strong squad and the experience of having done it all before.

But there is still an awful lot of work to do for the Junction men – 10 matches still to play, including three cup finals.

While the other teams, Six Bells, Bar Bow, Rhyl Wanderers and The Alex could still play a major role in determining who will end up as champions, it is hopefully not too disrespectful of us to see the title tussle as being between the top five.

There are many clashes involving the leading quintet still to come, so it is very difficult at this stage to predict who will finish top.

Safe to say, the best of this season is yet to come.
