Chirk AAA 2 Llanfair United 0

A third league win on the bounce lifted Chirk back to the Ardal North East summit.

Saturday’s success over Llanfair ensured the AAA’s leapfrogged their Powys visitors to reclaim top spot with a brilliant performance.

After last week’s win at Cefn Albion, Chirk were in confident mood as they took on a United outfit unbeaten in 11 league games.

There was not much to choose between the sides in the opening half hour with both weighing each other up.

It was a touch of class from Chirk striker Jordan MacCarter which changed the game in favour of the home side with a brilliant strike after 40 minutes to put The Colliers ahead.

Chirk led 1-0 at the break and it was the hosts who looked like increasing their lead early in the second half with increased pressure.

Dale Davies eventually put them further ahead on 70 minutes.

Chirk, with man of the match Matty Williams outstanding in defence, snuffed out Llanfair’s threat and the home side were unlucky not to boost their lead with minutes remaining when Davies again netted only to be controversially ruled offside.

Bow Street 4 Carno 1

Richard Ricketts struck at the double for a Bow Street side which emphatically saw off Carno.

The hosts were also boosted by a Jodeci Dean own goal and Steffan Davies strike, Cal Breese replying for the visitors.

Kerry 0 Penparcau 6

Mattie Davies (3), Ryan Edwards, Liam Lewis and Andrew Gittins shared the goals in Penparcau’s romp at Dolforgan Park.

Penycae 2 Berriew 3

Ed Baker (2) and Steffan Davies struck for the Rhiewsiders who took a deserved and comfortable 3-0 lead in the second half, before conceding twice in a sloppy last 10 minutes to set up a very nervous finish.

Jaden Jones and Daniel Woosey put Penycae back in with a shout courtesy of two late goals.

Rhos Aelwyd 0 Caersws 5

Caersws rose to third and remain live title contenders after going nap at Ponciau Park.

Neil Mitchell scored the only goal of the first half and after the break Rhydian Davies, Luke Mumford, Charlie Gordon and Will Thomas all found the net.
