Match report by Ron Squire

In far from ideal conditions, Meliden and Llandyrnog shared the honours on a damp Cae Nant pitch.
The home side went close with a header before a long range free kick was kept out smartly by stand-in keeper Joe Newell.

Meliden’s main first-half efforts included a beautiful curling shot from Alfie Edwards which was tipped over the bar by Dylan Jones. Joe Roberts also had a strike well saved.

Changes for Meliden in the second half helped their cause, but they were unable to find the net and tended to be slightly open at the back as well, but no matter how often Llandyrnog broke through, the reflexes of Newell kept them at bay.

A few chances came for Meliden towards the end of the game, most notably a Matty Griffiths free kick which hit the crossbar.
