Holywell Town capture exciting player with past experience at Manchester’s City and United

Holywell Town Reserves’ newest signing has an interesting background.

Joe Badeed is of Welsh/Yemeni heritage and has been involved with some top quality clubs over the years.

He joins a Holywell team currently sitting top of the FAW Cymru Reserves North West League, having gone unbeaten all season in 13 games comprising 11 wins and two draws.

Joe revealed: “I had a trial at Manchester United in my younger days, then went on to Manchester City Development for three years, having done pre-season, trained and played games with the academy on multiple occasions.

“After that I played a season at Blackburn Rovers but unfortunately didn’t sign. I was then at Stockport County for three years, completing my two-year scholarship with them.

“I am very happy to sign with Holywell, everyone made me feel very welcome from the get go. The management style is great, everyone understands their role and what they have to do as part of the team.”

Holywell Reserves manager Karl Bacon said: “I feel really lucky and privileged to have a player like Joe with us. He’s an exceptional talent who’s both-footed. Not only that, he’s also one of the nicest lads you can meet.

“Since he began training with us week by week he’s come out of his shell and once our post-Christmas friendlies began he’s shown us exactly what he can do with three assists and one goal in 3 games.”
