NWCFA SUNDAY CHALLENGE CUP QUARTER-FINALS

FC Mally 3
Millbank 0

FC Mally hammered the door closed on Millbank’s hopes of another upset with a 3-0 victory in the Challenge Cup,

Four-time cup winners and current holders Mally started the game brightest and would have been two-up inside the opening 10 minutes but for the heroics of visiting keeper Ben Spencer.

However, the breakthrough came in the 12th minute when Kyle Robb was quickest to react at the back post and slotted the hosts in front.

It was soon 2-0 when the visitors were caught napping from a short corner. Stevie Jones pulled the ball back to Sam Sinkinson and his low drive found the net.

Midway through the first half Mally’s dominance was rewarded with a third.

After another good save from Spencer, Jamie Moorhouse pounced and headed home for 3-0.

Mally continued to create chances but could not add to their score before the break.

The second half passed by without too much happening, although Spencer made a couple more great saves to keep the scoreline respectable.

Millbank failed to get into the game, only forcing the Mally keeper into one save throughout. Man of the Match for FC Mally was Stevie Jones.

Conwy Comrades 5
Bar Bow 3

Comrades fought back from 3-2 down at half time to progress to the semi-finals.

Attacking football from both teams made the game a good watch for the neutral.

Conwy went 1-0 down but dug deep to bring it back to 2-1 with a brace from Jamie Haggas. Just before half time Bar Bow scored twice to lead at the break.

Martin King (2) and Joel Rowlands scored the Bow goals, Aaron Dodwell with two assists and James Harrison one.

Following the interval, the Comrades came out flying and Gaz Jones from a corner made it 3-3.

Two great strikes from hat-trick hero Haggas and Joe Carey clinched a home win.

Y Clwb 3

Max Williams, Dion Lloyd and Tom Williams were on target for Y Clwb, who had to work hard to see off a battling Alex.

Matty McElroy and David Maddock found the net for the home team.

Royal Oak 5
Six Bells 1

Oak stormed into the semis with a commanding win over Bells.

Josh Brown (2), Thomas Jones, Ethan Taylor and David Gray were the marksmen for the winning team, Macca Lewis replying for the away side.
