North Wales football clubs survive on the dedication and loyalty of people like Kai Davies.
The Mochdre Sports stalwart celebrates his 28th birthday on Sunday and plenty of people at the North Wales Coast East Premier Division club and no doubt beyond will be raising a glass to him.
Here is an insight into what makes Kai tick….
Kai Davies

Mochdre Sports 4-1 Prestatyn Rovers in the Salisbury and Co Presidents Cup final in May 2013 – my first trophy for Mochdre.
Playing for North Wales Coast FA in the final of the Regions Cup qualifiers vs South Wales FA at Newtown in 2018
A 90th minute header which was the winning goal for North Wales Coast FA in a 3-2 victory against Central Wales at Conwy Borough.
Heading, passing, organising
I collect far too many yellow cards
Amir Movahedi. He never made it into men’s football due to injuries but at 17/18 years old he was the best around.
James Harper from Prestatyn Sports. His loyalty to Prestatyn over the years is even better as I’m sure he could have played a lot higher.
My Dad – he has come to every game home and away since I can remember and isn’t afraid to criticise me or my team-mates.
Alex Doombar Williams, the lad is something special
Blaenau Ffestiniog. Lovely pitch and I always seem to play well down there and score.
A break of 15 in snooker.
I think we’ve started the season really well considering we’ve had a poor last couple of years. I think to finish in the top 6 would be a good achievement for us and a good platform for us to go again next season.
I think it’s been a good move for Mochdre as we were spending countless weekends playing away in Anglesey and we now have the chance to play in a lot more competitive local derby fixtures which get good crowds. Also the addition of Rhyl 1879 to the league is a great challenge to go and give your best against them.
I just want to play for as long as possible till the injuries take their toll and maybe give Tier 3 a go one day as I feel I could hold my own at that level.
America
Galaxy
The Crown, Aberffraw. Great scran.
The Blindside
Easy On Me – Adele

I’m really sound
I’m a control freak/OCD
