Sweet revenge for Corwen as they turned over a Bow Street outfit which had beaten them 5-1 last month.

The away side’s feat was made even better by the fact they could only name 11 players and no substitutes due to injuries, suspensions and other commitments.

The visitors started brightest, Harry Pooler heading against the post from a Scott Evans corner.

With six minutes of the opening half to play, the deadlock was broken as Evans played the ball to Tom Williams, who made no mistake as his fine finish got the better of keeper Ben Willis.

After the break the home side came charging out of the blocks in a bid to level the scores, but to no avail.

A goal-bound shot was tipped onto the bar from a great save by Josh Williams, after which the ball was on its way to dropping over the line; however Pooler was in the right place to clear.

With 20 minutes left, Tom Williams saw his shot blocked by Tomos Roberts.

Corwen were able to win the ball back and play it to Owen Cordiner, who found space in the box before curling his shot into the back of the net.

It was game, set and match nine minutes later, as the ball was played to Oliver Crimp on the wing. Crimp made his way into the box, where despite having well-positioned team-mates he went for goal himself and leathered the ball beyond Willis.

Chirk AAA 2 (Middlehurst 29, Davies 49)

Goals from Louie Middlehurst and Dale Davies gave The Colliers the points in Mid Wales.

It was a tight affair with Chirk keeper Zac Bebbington making two great saves either side of the break to keep his team ahead.

Late on both sides hit the woodwork with Jake Jones rattling the bar with a fierce drive.

Man of the match was Matty Williams with an outstanding defensive display.

It is now 11 wins out of 11 games for Ardal North East leaders Chirk.

This Saturday, Andrew Pryde’s men entertain Bow Street with a 1 pm kick-off.

Four Crosses 1 (Edwards 32)
Rhos Aelwyd 2 (Rumsey 25, Roberts 46)

It was another successful mission at Foxen Manor for the North Wales sleuths – this time Rhos Aelwyd solved the clues and uncovered three points.

Aelwyd felt their performance was not of the vintage variety, but in a game which saw them dig deep they showed winning ugly is needed at times to get the rewards.

James Rumsey put the visitors in front after 25 minutes when great link up play from Sam Baldam and Dan Harrison put the scorer through on goal.

Four Crosses found an equaliser after a long through ball sent Byron Edwards clear to finish in style into the bottom corner.

Daniel Roberts provided the second-half winner for Rhos.

The visitors missed other chances and had to produce some strong defending to cling on for the points.

Kerry 2 (T Jones 14 & 78)
Dolgellau 5 (J Jones 13 & 69; Williams 81, McWatt OG 82, Edwards 89)

It took Dolgellau until the final 10 minutes to secure the victory.

Jake Jones put the visitors ahead on 13 minutes, but Tai Jones levelled in no time and come the break it remained 1-1.

The score stayed level until the 69th minute when Jake Jones slotted his second.

Tai Jones made it all-square again, but Owain Williams notched Dol’s third on 81 minutes and soon after a Daryl McWatt own goal all but clinched it for the visitors.

David Edwards made ultra sure with an 89th minute fifth for Dolgellau.

Llanfair United 3 (McVeagh 7, Seliaerts 55, Mwamuka 75)
Penycae 2 (Evans 17, Davies 52)

Midfield ace Nyasha Mwamuka bagged a 75th minute winner for Llanfair in this close contest with Wrexham visitors Penycae.

Jamie McVeagh put the hosts ahead on seven minutes, but Gary Evans equalised after 17 and it stayed 1-1 up to the turnaround.

Early in the second half, Zac Davies put the Riversiders 2-1 up, but Karl Seliaerts soon levelled and Mwamuka banged in the decider.

Former TNS scholar Mwamuka is also a Welsh Schoolboy and Academies international.

Penparcau 4 (Turner 20, Gornall 31, Davies 79, Edwards 88)
Cefn Albion 2 (Kendrick 3 & 19)

Big shock at Min-y-Ddol as Cefn Albion lost a two-goal lead and ended up getting knocked out of the league cup by Penparcau.

The Cefners’ cause was not helped by having Josh Valentine sent off early in the second half with the score at 2-2 and the visitors’ Ryan Kershaw was also dismissed late on.

It all started so well for the Wrexham-area side as a Leighton Kendrick double had them two-up before the 20-minute mark.

But Charlie Turner replied and Michael Gornall made it two-apiece at the interval.

Valentine’s early bath left Albion up against it and goals from sub Ben Davies and Ryan Edwards sealed a famous win for Penparcau.
