FAW RESERVE LEAGUE NORTH EAST ROUND-UP

Gresford Athletic Reserves pulled off a fantastic 2-1 win at leaders The New Saints Reserves on Monday to go level on points with the table-toppers.

Saints took a 19th minute lead through Reece Warder and remained 1-0 up at half time.

Early in the second half, Gresford’s Matthew Thompson was sent off for a second yellow, but the 10 men raised their game and a 62nd minute leveller from Tomos Williams was followed by the winner on 89 from Harvey Ellis.

Sunday’s action saw Chirk AAA Reserves see off Brickfield Rangers Reserves 3-0.

Phil Pearce broke the deadlock on nine minutes, Toby Nash made it two on 52 and Harvey Edwards netted in injury time to seal the points.

On Saturday, Rhydymwyn Reserves edged past bottom side Brymbo Reserves 2-1.

Iwan Nevitt put Rhyd in front on 30, Daniel Roach equalised after 49 but Ryan Davies nabbed a 90th minute decider for the hosts.
