FAW Reserve Leagues – wins for Gresford, Chirk, Rhydymwyn, Conwy and Ruthin

Harvey Ellis was the match-winner for Gresford Athletic Reserves

FAW RESERVE LEAGUE NORTH EAST ROUND-UP

Gresford Athletic Reserves pulled off a fantastic 2-1 win at leaders The New Saints Reserves on Monday to go level on points with the table-toppers.

Saints took a 19th minute lead through Reece Warder and remained 1-0 up at half time.

Early in the second half, Gresford’s Matthew Thompson was sent off for a second yellow, but the 10 men raised their game and a 62nd minute leveller from Tomos Williams was followed by the winner on 89 from Harvey Ellis.

Sunday’s action saw Chirk AAA Reserves see off Brickfield Rangers Reserves 3-0.

Phil Pearce broke the deadlock on nine minutes, Toby Nash made it two on 52 and Harvey Edwards netted in injury time to seal the points.

On Saturday, Rhydymwyn Reserves edged past bottom side Brymbo Reserves 2-1.

Iwan Nevitt put Rhyd in front on 30, Daniel Roach equalised after 49 but Ryan Davies nabbed a 90th minute decider for the hosts.

FAW RESERVE LEAGUE NORTH WEST

Sam Earl-Jones scored all four goals for Conwy Borough Reserves in a 4-2 triumph over St Asaph City Reserves.

Louis Matthews and Kieran Garnett-Hughes responded for the away side.

Ruthin Town Reserves claimed the spoils at Llangefni Town Reserves 3-1.

All the goals came in the second half.

Alex Webster gave Ruthin the lead on 61 minutes, but Ben Owen made it all-square after 65.

The visitors had the better staying power, however, Daniel Dolben and Ifan Jones on the mark to complete the victory.
