Great victories for Llanfairpwll, Caergybi, Bethesda Athletic and Waunfawr in North Wales Coast West Division One

NORTH WALES COAST WEST DIVISION ONE – REPORTS, AUGUST 8

Bethesda Rovers 3 (Price 8, Williams 20, Astbury 28)
Caergybi 9 (G Owen pen 12, Chapman 19, 49, 55 & 70, Webb 60 & 66, Thomas 83, Beck 87)

Newly-formed Rovers, playing their first-ever competitive game, looked capable of giving Caergybi a real fright when they led 3-2 at half time.

However, the visitors turned up the heat after the break to score seven goals without reply.

Osian Price got the Bethesda hosts off to a flyer with an eighth-minute opener, but Gary Jo-Owen levelled from the spot and top-scorer Louis Chapman soon made it 2-1.

The hosts were undeterred, however, Reece Williams equalising on 20 minutes and Jack Astbury put Rovers in front after 28.

The second half was a different tale as Caergybi awoke from their slumber and piled on the goals.

Chapman completed his hat-trick within 10 minutes of the second period and later hit a fourth to move onto 16 goals for the campaign.

Midfielder Dave Webb weighed in with a double and before the end Sion Thomas and Jamie Beck put the visitors well out of sight.

Bethesda Athletic 7 (Issa 5, Roberts 45, Todd pen 67, Hartleb 68, Hughes 71, Robertson 80, Davies 85)
Llangoed & District 0

After an unexpected shaky start to the season Bethesda came good with a seven-goal caning of Llangoed at Parc Meurig.

Ally Issa delivered an early goal to calm any nerves which may have been present, but it remained 1-0 up until first half added time, when Adrian Roberts doubled the lead.

Midway through the second period, it was still 2-0, but Mark Hughes’ side then produced a flood of goals.

Joe Todd (pen), Kyle Hartleb, Osian Hughes, Cameron Roberts and Cai Davies brought up the seven.

Holyhead Town 0
Waunfawr 4 (S Roberts 3 & 16, Llywelyn 24, Parry 87)

Not the sort of result Holyhead were looking for as impressive Waunfawr maintained their strong start to 2021-22 with a four-goal triumph at Millbank.

Shaun Roberts’ early double put the Beganifs in command and Guto Llywelyn made it three before half time.

It stayed at 3-0 until David Parry added a late fourth for the travelling outfit.

Llanfairpwll 5 (L Owen 4 & 44, C Owen 55, Holland 60, Williams 70)

On a day of mainly big away wins in Division One, Llanfairpwll came up with another when they visited Cae Gors.

Star man Luke Owen struck a first half pair to put the Anglesey side two-up at the changeover.

Cian Owen added a third, and while Mark Williams pulled one back, ‘Pwll’s Marquis Holland, who also missed a penalty, made no mistake when he netted on the hour.

Dylan Williams made it five for the outstanding visitors to complete a resounding display.
