Pontblyddyn’s Jonathan Byrd had a great day with bat and ball as his team edged a three-wicket victory in their top-of-the-table clash with Halkyn at Alder Meadow.
Byrd top-scored with 40 and claimed best bowling figures of 3-12 in a really close-fought contest.
Put into bat, Halkyn were bowled out for 122 in 34.1 overs, Gareth Fox best with 29, while Byrd nabbed 3-12 and Chris Moss 3-14 for the hosts.
Pont scored quickly in response, but also lost regular wickets.
They were glad of Byrd’s 40 and 31 from Moss as they reached 123-7 off 22.5 overs, Jamie Griffiths picking up 3-41 and Fox 2-31 for the visitors.
Mold are up to second after a big seven-wicket triumph at Ty Newydd.
Bangor seconds won the toss and batted, setting 152-7 with Jamie Davies topping the chart with 52.
For the visitors, Josh Jones scooped 2-13 and John Crane 2-23.
Mold cruised to 154-3 in 30.5 overs, Ewan Hill posting 42 and Richard Deniz 38 not out, Andy Williams 2-22 for the home team.

Auty concocted a magnificent spell of 10 overs, three maidens, four wickets for 23 runs.
Quay reached the winning post with few alarms, ending on 177-4 in 38.3 overs, Darren Jones 57 not out, Rhys Stout 46 and Joshua Clarke 40 no, Phil Leeds an excellent 2-20 off 10 for the away side.
Captain Nicholas Parry struck an important half-ton for Bethesda in Saturday’s victory at Gwersyllt.
Pesda were inserted by the hosts and piled up a decent total of 216-6 off 45 overs, Parry hitting 67 off 62 balls including nine fours and two sixes, while Dewi Roberts scored 33, the pair putting on 81 for the third wicket.
Daniel Jones took 3-38 and Lee Beer 2-35 for the home team.
Gwersyllt were bowled out for 192, Ryan Collier making 50 and Scott Watkins 30, Andrew Day bagging 4-27 and Matthew Harrington 2-35 for the winners.
A strong early batting effort laid the foundations for Abergele’s win at Gwydir Park.
Llanrwst were sent packing for a modest 148, skipper Aron Hughes standing out with 40, while Huw Williams added 35.
Edward Rooney was Gele’s leading bowler with 3-14, Rana Das snaring 3-39 and David Moulson 2-29.
Ben Garnett (43), Karl Higgins (32) and Lewis Tolond (20) pushed Abergele to 107-2 at one stage. The visitors then lost a few wickets, but managed to get home on 149-7 in the 30th over.
Alwyn Williams notched 3-39 and Jack Hughes 2-10 for Llanrwst, who lost 12-3 on points.
Hawarden returned to winning ways by making light work of Ruthin in an eight-wicket victory.
The home side may well have regretted choosing to bat as they were rolled over for just 80, Matty Blunden 3-9 and James Martin 3-23 for the visitors.
