Bodedern Athletic are off to a flyer – of that there is no doubt.
Four wins out of four, 25 goals scored and just two conceded.
However, manager Ricky Williams would be the first to point out these are early days.
And with all due respect to the opposition faced so far, Boded have many tougher tests to come.
But you cannot knock a good start, and the Anglesey villagers continued their encouraging opening to the campaign with a 2-0 win over a very capable Pwllheli outfit on Tuesday.
Both goals were provided by the prolific Marc (Loggs) Evans, who has scored 10 times in four matches so far.
It is not just Evans who has impressed in the finishing department. The 500-plus goals legend Asa Thomas has scored six, while talented youngsters Sam Gregson and Casey Gregg are also looking sharp.
Wednesday’s battle at Cae Ty Cristion saw Evans break the deadlock after just six minutes. He received the ball down the channel, beat the centre-half and then delivered a wicked cross which found the far corner.
On 40 minutes the hosts made it 2-0 with a well-worked goal. Boded moved the ball from left to right, James Mcminimee whipped a ball into the six-yard box and Evans finished at the front post.
After the match, winning manager Williams said: “I thought we were good in parts last night but we could have kept the ball better at times.
“I’ve said before a ball was kicked, it will take us a fair few games to get going with so many missing pre-season games. It was good to see Marc among the goals again.”
