Meliden FC have announced that Leon Field has joined the club as director of football.
Leon is no stranger to local football as he has previously managed both Prestatyn Town and Kinmel Bay.
Meliden chairman Steve Boyle said: “I am made up that Leon has agreed to take on this new role.
“We have a lot of plans in place for the club in the future and with Leon now coming on board he’ll be looking to attract players to the club and help us push towards our goals for the upcoming season and also for many years to come.”
Father-of-two Leon, a former rugby and football player with Abergele, said: “I’m excited to get back involved within football and after speaking with Tony and Bolly I’m excited to be joining Meliden as director of football.
“I’m excited at the vision the club has and also how the personnel have bought into what the club’s plans are.
“Meliden is a club that was founded by players and local people and for me that’s what I believe in so to be joining and helping them to help carry on the great work that’s already been done will be an honour and I can’t wait to get involved.”
