Penblwydd hapus Fflur Williams (Bethel)

Fflur Williams will be keen to pick up where she left off when the 2021-22 season starts.

In February 2020, Fflur signed for CPD Merched Bethel from Llandudno, who had resigned from the Welsh Premier League and were refused late admission into the North Wales League.

She scored on debut for the maroons in a 7-1 North East Wales FA Cup semi-final win over Wrexham, but just a fortnight later the rest of the season was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

And with the entire 2020-21 season also wiped out by Covid-19, Fflur has been without football action for far too long.

Today sees the young winger/striker celebrate her 20th birthday, having been born on May 25, 2001.

A goalscoring sensation as a teenager, Fflur was top markswoman once for Llandudno under-14’s and twice for the U-16’s, also winning player of the year for both teams.

She once netted all seven goals in a 7-1 win for the under-14’s versus Bangor and at U-16 level scored 60 times in a season.

Not surprisingly, Fflur gained international recognition, turning out for Wales at under-17 level.

After a spell with Cardiff City Ladies in the English pyramid, Fflur returned to play for Llandudno seniors in the Welsh Premier.

She scored a few goals in the 2018-19 and curtailed 2019-20 seasons before moving to Bethel.

Fflur’s dad, Euryn, was a prolific marksman for Bro Cernyw, scoring a remarkable 683 goals for the club between 1990-2006.

She has a twin brother who does not play football.

Penblwydd hapus to you both.
