Gresford Athletic

The Colliers have added considerable strength to their attacking options through two new signings – Joe Chaplin from Colwyn Bay and Matthew Worrall from Llay Miners Welfare.

The two forwards have both previously played for the Cymru North club, Chaplin spending four months on loan at Clappers Lane during the 2019/20 season and Worrall turning out for a short period in 2019.

Chaplin has been an outstanding goal scorer for the likes of Llandudno, Cardiff Metropolitan University, Glan Conwy, Conwy Borough, Porthmadog, Airbus UK Broughton and the Bay.

The 28-year-old made seven appearances in all competitions during his loan spell at Gresford, notching four goals.

Worrall has spent almost his whole career so far at Llay Miners Welfare, alongside two seasons with Queen’s Park and stints at Denbigh Town and Rhyl.
