Anest Hâf Roberts is widely rated as one of the finest young talents in North Wales women’s football.
The Bethel youngster, aged 17, emerged through the club’s junior ranks and four-and-a-half years ago scored a memorable hat-trick for the Under-14’s in a 3-0 victory at Prestatyn.
It did not take Bethel long to open the scoring as Anest ran from deep, burst through Prestatyn’s defence and thumped home.
Prestatyn threatened but could not break down Bethel’s defence.
Just before half time Anest added Bethel’s and her second.
Catrin Evans’ 30 yard pass found Anest, who had found some space up front and after controlling the ball sent a curling effort past the helpless keeper.
In the second half Bethel really took control as they kept possession well and sealed the points.
Evans’ perfect delivery found Anest in the box and she glanced a header into the top corner to cap off a player-of-the-match performance and a very good team display from Bethel.
Anest went on to represent the Under-16’s and is now an established member of Bethel’s first team, playing as a central defender who is often a major threat from dead-ball situations and set-pieces.
