Two more new signings revealed by CPD Penrhyndeudraeth

CPD Penrhyndeudraeth manager Iwan Williams has brought another familiar face back to Maes-y-Parc – and introduced an exciting new addition.

Huw Quaeck has rejoined the tier 4 North Wales Coast West Premier Division club hot on the heels of fellow returnees Adam Griffiths, Iwan Thomas, Liam Watson and Tom Hughes.

And Dylan Sweeney is a new name for supporters to get excited about.

Central midfielder Quaeck spent the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons with Penrhyn, scoring seven times in 39 appearances.

“I’m delighted that Quaecky has decided to re-sign for us,” said manager Williams. “In training last night he worked his socks off, retained the ball and showed everyone his desire to improve his fitness. If we get him fit, which we’ll work hard on doing, he’ll be an asset for us in more positions than one.”

Left-sided specialist Sweeney signed for Porthmadog last season, but the campaign never got underway for tier 3 clubs because of Covid-19.

He was in the University of Liverpool for the previous four years and has played for South Liverpool, Ashton Town and Widnes.

Williams added: “With the way we want to play this season, it was important we got Dylan on board and it was such an easy conversation. He wants to come back to us and try and help us achieve our objectives.

“His attitude, energy and quality is second to none, which is why he’s played at such a good level.

“The turnouts we’ve had at training should get the village and everyone connected to the club excited. We’ll keep on building as the weeks progress. Watch this space!”

Williams, who holds the UEFA Pro License, took over at Maes-y-Parc last month after a spell as part of the coaching team at National League North club Chester FC.

Prior to that, he was director of football at Bangor 1876, manager of Llandudno in the Welsh Premier League and boss at Caernarfon Town, where he won the Cymru Alliance League and cup double in his first season in charge.

The Anglesey-based coach also helped guide Ynys Môn to the gold medal at the 2019 Inter-Island Games.
