Penrhyn Bay Girls & Women will be out for revenge when they face Talycopa in the semi-finals of the FAW Under-16 Girls Welsh Cup next month.
In last year’s competition, Penrhyn lost on penalties to the Swansea side in the quarters after the match itself finished 1-1.
Talycopa then lost in the semis to Tredegar Women and Girls. The final was never played due to coronavirus, meaning Penrhyn Bay still technically hold the cup they won in 2018-19.
Having beaten Northop Hall Girls 8-0 in Sunday’s quarter-final, which followed wins over NFA (1-0) and Bethel (10-0) in the earlier rounds, the squad coached by Gaz Rawling, Owen Davis and Dylan Jones will be going all out to reclaim the trophy and become the first North Wales team to win it twice.
The draw for the 2020-21 semi-finals of the FAW Girls’ Cup took place at FAW HQ today and read:
Penrhyn Bay v Talycopa
Caerleon v Barry Town United
Ties are to be played on Sunday, 9 May 2021. The matches will be played at neutral venues, that will be confirmed in due course.
