Bangor lad Nathan Broadhead made his Premier League debut for Everton in Monday night’s 0-0 draw at Brighton.
The 23-year-old came on as an 88th minute substitute for Tom Davies at the Amex Stadium.
He becomes one of a select band of North Walians to appear in England’s top division.
Forward Broadhead had featured on the bench for the Blues in other matches this year, but Monday was the first occasion he had got onto the field.
The draw left Everton still facing an uphill task in the race to qualify for the Champions League.
Starting out at Bangor City, Broadhead joined Everton at the age of 10 from Wrexham.
A great success for the club’s under-23 side, on 6 December 2017, he was named in Everton’s first team squad for the Europa League match away to Apollon Limassol of Cyprus.
A day later, he made his first-team debut, coming on as an 82nd-minute substitute and flicking on for Nikola Vlašić’s goal in a 3–0 win.
August 2, 2019, saw Broadhead sign a one-year contract extension until 2021, then join Burton Albion on loan for the 2019–20 season.
A day later, he made his Football League debut, coming on as a substitute in Burton’s 1–0 loss to Ipswich Town.
Broadhead played in 23 matches for Albion, scoring three times, twice in the league and once in the League Cup.
After returning to Goodison Park, he made the bench for the first time this season in a Premier League match against Southampton on 1 March where Everton went on to win 1-0.
Broadhead subsequently made his Premier League debut away against Brighton & Hove Albion on 12 April.
Nathan has played for Wales at various age levels: under-17 – 5 appearances; under-19 – 6 appearances, 5 goals; under-20 – 3 appearances; under-21 – 17 appearances, 2 goals.
