Cymru North club Llangefni Town have signed goal machine Dylan Summers-Jones from Bangor 1876.

The 18-year-old sensation from Gaerwen scored 45 times in all competitions in 1876’s debut 2019-20 season, which saw them coast to the Gwynedd League title with a perfect 16 straight wins.

The young islander forged a prolific 88-goal striking partnership with Jamie Petrie, who netted on 43 occasions.

Between them, the pair bagged not far off half of 1876’s total of 185 goals in 30 competitive matches.

Dylan scooped the Supporters Player of the Season award to cap off a truly wonderful season at the club.

The teenager represented Llangefni at junior level before moving on to Bangor City and most recently Bangor 1876.

Cefni manager Chris Roberts said “I am delighted to finally get Dylan’s signature over the line. Dyl is a player I have been after for the last couple of seasons now and is a player I rate highly.

“He has shown what a talent he is and is a real goal threat. He will fit in perfectly to the way we want to play. I think it’s a good move for Dylan to continue in his development and I will ensure we get the best out of him every week.”

Bangor 1876 secretary Dafydd Hughes said: “Dylan had an excellent first season for us and it is unfortunate that we have not been able to play competitively this season.

The situation is such that clubs in Tier Two will always be allowed to play first and we wish Dylan well at his new club.”
