CPD Glantraeth win their appeal to play in tier 4 in 2020-21

Glantraeth Football Club have won their appeal to compete in tier 4 of the Welsh football pyramid this season.

The Anglesey club were originally placed in the tier 5 North Wales Coast West Division One, but protested and today learned from the FAW Appeals Panel that they will instead enter the North Wales Coast West Premier Division in 2020-21.

That division now contains 17 teams, the same number as North Wales Coast West Division One.

Glantraeth first team manager Sean Brett commented: “We are delighted to announce that we were today informed by the Welsh FA that we were successful in our appeal and will play in tier 4 in the upcoming season – whenever that may start.

“Can we put on record our massive appreciation and thanks to Christopher James O’Neil for his hard work and commitment to our appeal – it’s very much appreciated by everyone at the club.”

Llannerchymedd also appealed against being selected for tier 5, but with the Appeals Panel stating today both coast divisions will have 17 members, it appears the Anglesey club were turned down, although this has not been officially confirmed.

The NWCFA has also come under heavy fire from the FAW over the way it handled the inspection process for the new divisions.
