CPD Glantraeth will appeal to the Football Association of Wales against the North Wales Coast FA’s decision to place them in Tier 5 of the new leagues set-up.
The Anglesey side has actually achieved Tier 3 creditation, but were refused a place at that level.
It was predicted the islanders would slot nicely into Tier 4 – the North Wales Coast West League Premier Division.
However, today it was announced Glantraeth would be in Tier 5 – Division One of the new league.
The club, which has won the tier-two Cymru North (when it was known as the Cymru Alliance) in the past, as well as the tier-three Welsh Alliance, immediately announced it will appeal.
A statement from CPD Glantraeth said: “Having had the news today that the club will be placed into tier 5 of Welsh football, the committee have decided that the decision of the North Wales Coast Football Association shall be appealed to the FA of Wales.
“The club will now await the outcome of the FAW for the final decision.”
