Dean Redmond marked his return to Menai Bridge Tigers with four goals in a 7-1 friendly win against Glantraeth last night.

Redmond, Menai’s top scorer with 39 goals when they won the Gwynedd League in 2018-19, also led the charts for Welsh Alliance Division One side Bodedern Athletic last season.

During the summer, he decided to return to tier 4 Tigers.

Redmond travelled back from working away to feature in Menai’s first pre-season friendly.

Callum Davidson added a hat-trick, while Sion Hogan played a part in many of the goals.

Tigers manager Aaron Rowlands said: “It was a great run out for both sides, who had players missing due to local lockdown with some self-isolating.

“It felt great to finally get a game of football back on after seventh months off. Plenty of the Tigers enjoyed their first full 90 minutes and it was pleasing to see some of the new faces involved.

“Good luck to Sean Brett and Glantraeth for the season and huge thank you for getting the game on last night.

“Hopefully after this two-week fire break now we can get a clear insight into getting the season started as last night only whet the appetite to get going now.”
