Can you help out Rhyl All Stars ?

Rhyl All Stars football team is urgently seeking a kit sponsor ahead of the 2020-21 season.

The club formed last season and despite finishing bottom of Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Division One they still recorded some encouraging results.

A 5-2 win at Penrhyn Bay Dragons and 4-2 victory at home to Machno United were their main highlights, but they also gave title contenders Llysfaen a cracking contest before losing 6-4.

Playing their matches at Rhyl Leisure Centre’s grass pitch, the All Stars are managed by Robert Cunnah, who has approached in the region of 100 business in search of a sponsor with no luck.

“I’ve tried everything, but so far have got nowhere,” he said.

“I do fully appreciate the Covid-19 situation has affected everyone’s finances, but if anyone out there can help, for £500 you will get your name on our shirts, plus regular mentions on our social media promoting your business.”

The overall cost of sponsorship is £700, but the manager says the players and management will raise £200 themselves.

Robert continued: “I started this team as it was always something I’d wanted to do. I started coaching from a young age in all sports but football is my passion.

“The club was founded in April of 2019.

“We had a difficult start to our first season as a club with a very good quality of teams in the league.

“As the season progressed and the team started to gel we became much more competitive and began to get some points on the league table.

“As the team progressed we began to attract some higher profile players from the local area.

“Looking ahead to this season we have a much strengthened squad and have high ambitions to push much further up in a very competitive league this season.”

Rhyl All Stars will play in tier 5 North Wales Coast East Division One this season.

“Local sport really does bring people together,” added the manager.

“I’ve loved sport my whole life, I started volunteering locally from the age of 12 and then went on to do several different coaching roles which I won awards UK wide for.

“Running my own team is something very special to me, we’re building a great spirit within the club.”

Anyone who can help Rhyl All Stars with kit sponsorship can contact Robert via e-mail at lfcunnah@gmail.com or on mobile: 07879 031978.
