Big signing for Cefn Albion! North Wales football transfers (291-300)

Mike Latham is a proven goalscorer

Mike Latham (FC Queen’s Park to Cefn Albion)

Attacking-midfielder who has built up a tremendous reputation over the years as a star player in the Wrexham area.

Representing Rhosddu and Gresford Athletic in his youth, Latham signed up for Welsh Premier club Cefn Druids, where he made a handful of substitute appearances before joining Lex XI in September 2008.

After brief spells with Llangollen Town and Caernarfon Town in 2009-10, Mike later moved to Penycae and Gresford Athletic, where he scored 28 goals in 35 appearances as the Colliers won the Welsh National League (Wrexham Area) Premier Division title in 2014/15.

In recent years, Latham has been a key man for FC Queen’s Park, helping them to numerous triumphs under Martin Ford and Dave Evans, as well as enjoying another goal-packed return to Gresford.

Now the 30-year-old aims to make a big impact at Cefn Albion of tier 3 Ardal North East.

Giacomo Mello (to Bangor City)

Giacomo Mello

City manager Hugo Colace’s fifth signing of the summer is Brazilian midfielder Mello, who arrives at Nantporth following spells at professional sides in Poland, Portugal and Brazil.

A youth product of prestigious Brazilian club Botafogo FC, Mello is a natural playmaker with excellent vision, capable of splitting defences with his quality passing ability.

The 27-year old joins a Cymru North club with high ambitions as he prepares to play a key role in the upcoming season’s promotion push.

“It’s a pleasure for me to become a Citizen. It’s a big opportunity because Bangor City is a big and historic club with a beautiful stadium and great fans.

“I will do my best to help the coach and the club to return to the top division again.”

Matty Williams (Corwen to Chirk AAA)

Classy central defender who was a league winner with FC Queen’s Park before playing last season in the Cymru North with Corwen.

Callum Thurnham (Coedpoeth United to Chirk AAA)

Young, talented goalkeeper arrives at Holyhead Road from Coedpoeth.

Perry Dench (Bethesda Athletic to Llandegfan)

Winger Perry was previously with Beaumaris Town and spent last season with Bethesda.Athletic.

Shaun Valentine (Plas Madoc to Chirk AAA)

Experienced defender whose previous clubs include Plas Madoc, Brymbo, Rhos Aelwyd and Brickfield Rangers.
One of many new signings for tier 3 Ardal North East outfit Chirk this summer.

Tom Slater (Beaumaris Town to Llandegfan)

Centre-back who should prove a valuable addition to Llandegfan’s defence this season.

Liam Tattum (New Brighton Villa to Sychdyn)

Busy on the signings front at Sychdyn over the past week.
Tattum crosses the divide from New Brighton Villa to Wat’s Dyke Way. Once fit should bring plenty of creativity to his new side.

Conor Donsbach (to Glantraeth)

A young and talented player who can play on the right of midfield or as a right winger/forward.
Possesses the same passion, commitment and drive as the new Glantraeth batch who have also played for the successful Bangor University team.

300th Grassroots North Wales signing! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Marc Wilson (Ogwen Tigers to CPD Y Fali)

Marc Wilson is back at Y Fali

Back at Parc Mwd after spending last season at Ogwen Tigers.

Pacy winger who has served Y Fali magnificently in the past and also played for Llanfairpwll and Llangefni Town Reserves.

Wilson said: “It was a no-brainer coming back to Valley. Since we’ve begun pre-season it’s been positive, both on and off the pitch.

“Having Dean (Byfield) as our fitness coach is a huge boost, it’s been hard going but beneficial to everyone in the squad.

“I can’t wait to get going in the new league and hope I can help CPD Y Fali have a very strong season in both league and cup games.”
