Trearddur Bay Bulls’ new manager is an experienced figure in North Wales football.
Derek Thomas has taken the helm at Lon Isallt following former boss Richard Owen’s decision to step down.
Holyhead man Thomas was in joint charge of the Morawelon team which won the NWCFA Junior Cup, Anglesey League title and BetFred Trophy treble in their debut season of 2011-12.
The Holyhead-based side lifted the BetFred again the season after and finished back-to-back runners-up in the Anglesey League before disbanding at the end of 2013-14.
Thomas has also had a spell as joint-manager of Holyhead Town.
Derek will bring to the Bulls a wealth of knowledge and a good connections to local players.
He will also be assisted by Mark Williams and Mike Davies, who will join the current coaches already at the club.
Williams won the Gwynedd League and Welsh Alliance League titles with predecessor club Trearddur Bay United in 2012/13 and 2015/16 respectively, while Davies is one of the most decorated and respected veteran players in Anglesey football.
Bulls chairman Chris Davies said: “We are more than happy with the decision, and after a few applications we all agreed that Derek was the best person to push on from last season.
“Derek has already stated he wants to work with the current squad and also bring in some new faces that he feels will improve and complement the team.
“The new staff structure will provide a great balance to the club on the field, and Derek and the team can’t wait to get going.”
Trearddur Bay Bulls was formed last season from an amalgamation between Trearddur Bay United and Bryngwran Bulls.
In their debut campaign in the Gwynedd League, the team finished a highly respectable fourth.
