Ffion Owen was a double winner in Amlwch Town Ladies’ virtual end-of-season awards ceremony this weekend.
Ffion, who joined the Anglesey club at the start of 2019-20, netted a fabulous 19 goals, as Amlwch finished up North Wales Women’s League Division Two champions.
She won Players’ Player of the Season and Committee’s Player of the Season having scored the most North Wales League goals and finishing third in the overall list of scorers in all competitions.
Managers’ Players of the Season was shared between Gail Manning, the former Bangor City star who rediscovered much of her magic last term, and midfield ace Cerys Gadd, who notched 12 goals.
Most Improved Player went to Beth Smith, while Goal of the Season was shared between youngster Catrin Evans and the ever-improving Shannon Thomas.
Top Scorer went to Lexi Crawley, who knocked in 20 goals in all competitions, following on her magnificent form of last summer, when she was leading markswoman in the Inter-Island Games as Ynys Môn reached the final.
While there were individual award winners, it was a tremendous team effort which made the curtailed 2019-20 season such a successful one for Amlwch.
