Nine North Wales Road Runners Club members took part in the Welsh Athletics virtual mile challenge over the Bank Holiday weekend with two members achieving what would normally have been top podium places.
Almost 300 athletes representing clubs across Wales competed in this extraordinary competition, which insisted that all participants ran their own course alone, and recorded their finishing times by an acknowledged electronic method.
Five members ran under 7 minutes, and the pick of the bunch was Josh Keogh, who registered the best club result in 10th place overall in a fast time of 4 mins 50 secs, and was also 3rd in his senior men age category.
Mark Jessett also ran extremely well finishing 40th in 5.18, with Gethin Wyn Jones 106th in 6.06.
Helen Hannam finished 160th overall, and celebrated a great new PB in 6.55 and was 4th in her F40 age category, with veteran Don Hale 165th and was 2nd in his M65 cat in 6.59.
Kay Hatton was 171st in 7.03, and teenager Mia Morris ran a PB in 7.15, whilst Mandy Owen was 208th in 7.58, and Rachel Morris 219th in 8.48.
