Bangor 1876 can make it 13 straight victories and extend their lead at the Gwynedd League summit to eight points with a home win over Waunfawr at Treborth tomorrow (Monday, 7.45 pm kick-off).

The fan-owned club celebrated a 12th league success in a row on Saturday with a 4-0 triumph at Glantraeth.

The scoring began in the ninth minute when captain Michael Johnston side-footed home from the edge of the six-yard box following a corner from the right.

Midway through the opening period, Dylan Summers-Jones doubled 1876’s advantage with his 34th goal of the season after a neat pass from Jamie Petrie.

Goalkeeper Danial Williams made a good save from Glantraeth attacker Bradley Bland shortly after the half hour mark.

A third goal almost arrived early in the second half when Summers-Jones hit the bar from close range. However, Petrie made the score 3-0 in 1876’s favour after 52 minutes when he turned neatly before shooting home from the edge of the six-yard area for his 33rd goal of the campaign.

Ryan Pope came off the bench to make his debut for 1876 in the 64th minute, replacing Dylan Williams, who was returning from injury.

With just under 20 minutes left, recent signing Sion Parry joined the action in place of Johnson and went close to scoring on several occasions.

Ben Owen added a fourth with a powerful shot before Summers-Jones hit the post near the end.

Second-place Trearddur Bay Bulls suffered a surprise 3-1 loss at Talysarn Celts.

Rhodri Jones, Jac Jones and Gerwyn Williams struck for the hosts, Iolo Jones’ penalty proving a mere consolation for the Bulls.

Bethesda Athletic enjoyed just their second win of the season with an 8-0 drubbing of Llannerchymedd at Parc Meurig.

Shaun Morris (3), Andy Clarke (2), Dewi Thomas (2) and Ali Issa shared the home goals tally.

Mitchell Jones and Callum Davidson were on target for Menai Bridge Tigers in a 2-0 home win over Llangoed.

Kevin Roberts was man of the match for Tigers, whose keeper Dion Lewis saved an early penalty from Wayne Thomas.

Iwan Williams, Ryan Jones and an own goal made sure Bro Goronwy took the honours 3-0 at Ogwen Tigers.

Waunfawr v Bontnewydd was postponed as no match referee was available.

Carl Jones netted five for Nefyn against Caergybi

In the Snowdonia Fire Protection Bob Owen Memorial Trophy, Carl Jones was a five-goal hero in Nefyn United’s 7-2 caning of Caergybi at Cae’r Delyn.

Joint player-manager Jones’ nap-hand included a second-half hat-trick within nine minutes.

Gethin Trenholme and Daniel Roberts also struck for the Penwaig, Gary Jo Owen and Elliot Patterson hitting back for the islanders.
