Llandudno have added two quality signings to their squad as they bid to make a mark in the Welsh Premier Women’s League this season.
Defender Tash Matthews and forward Alicia Stretton have joined the Seasiders having already impressed in the North Wales Women’s League.
Both made their Welsh Premier debuts as substitutes for Tudno today in a 1-1 home draw with Aberystwyth Town.
Tash, 18, starred in a strong Bangor City side in 2017-18 which sadly disbanded at the end of that campaign. At the same time, the teenage talent moved to South Wales with her family.
She is now back living in the north, and after an enforced break from the game, the former Ysgol Uwchradd Tywyn pupil is working her way back to full fitness. Her last club was Dafen Welfare, a respected South Wales outfit.
A strong, composed defender, she is always comfortable on the ball and can also stand-in as an emergency goalkeeper.
Alicia, 21, played for Prestatyn in the North Wales League last season and began the current term with newly-formed Division Two side NFA.
The Conwy-based striker has impressive touch and movement and now aims to add more goals to her game with the Seasiders.
Llandudno manager Sarah Colville said: “Alicia might find it hard at the moment, but will soon pick it up as we play one up front, but could now change things around as we have the players to do so.”
Tudno were expected to take three points against bottom side Aber today, but had to settle for just the one.
Emily Thomas handed the visitors an 18th minute lead at Maesdu Park.
Llandudno had a chance to equalise from a penalty after 34 minutes, but Stacey Tradewell missed the opportunity, putting the kick wide.
Just before the hour the leveller arrived when Fflur Williams played a neat one-two before applying a typically sharp finish.
Jordanne Greenough was player of the match for the hosts, but there was to be no winning goal.
