Games to please across the leagues….

Caernarfon Town and Barry Town United clash earlier this season. Picture: Paul Evans

Saturday, November 2

JD Cymru Premier (2.30 pm unless stated)
Caernarfon Town v Barry Town United

Can Caernarfon end table-topping Barry’s 11-match unbeaten run?
The Canaries earned a fine 0-0 draw at Jenner Park back in September and are certainly capable of upsetting Gavin Chesterfield’s side.
Barry are tremendous defensively, having conceded just seven goals in 11 league games, but they have not been so prolific up front, although they have netted the same amount of times as the Cofis.
Could be a low-scoring draw or a home or away win by a single goal.

JD Cymru North (2.30 pm)
Porthmadog v Corwen

Two teams in the bottom three meet at Y Traeth – Porthmadog lying 15th and promoted Corwen a place below.
After failing to win in their first eight matches – seven losses – Port are unbeaten in four across all competitions, taking seven points from a possible last nine in the CN.
Corwen also made a poor start, but got off the mark in the league just over a fortnight ago with an impressive 3-1 verdict at Conwy Borough.
Interestingly, new Corwen manager Sion Tudor is a former assistant at Porthmadog.

Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One (2pm)
Mynydd Llandegai v Nantlle Vale

Just two points separate this pair in Division One – Llandegai sitting 11th and Nantlle seventh.
Both sides’ last outings were encouraging. Vale defeated Coedpoeth 1-0 in the FAW Trophy, while Mynydd came back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 at leaders Llandudno Albion, ruining their 100% home record in the process.

Guy Walmsley Welsh National Premier Division League Cup (1.30 pm)
Penycae v FC Queen’s Park

Both teams will have been shattered by recent losses in knockout competitions, the Park losing 2-1 at Denbigh Town in the FAW Trophy last weekend, while Penycae went out of the Welsh Cup on penalty at Bangor 1876 seven days earlier.
Each will be keen not to exit the league cup. The Park have a psychological advantage having beaten Penycae 3-1 in the league on October 12.

Salisbury & Co (St Asaph) Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Premier Division (2pm Eirias Park 4G, Colwyn Bay)

Abergele v Rhuddlan Town

So much as stake as two undefeated teams go head-to-head in this top of the table tussle.

Abergele, undefeated in seven and with five straight home wins, are a point clear from Rhuddlan, who have a game in hand with a record of five victories and a draw.

Game was originally postponed due to no referee, but it’s now back ON thanks to task force angels. Kick off is 2 pm at Eirias Park 4G Colwyn Bay.

Cartrefi Cymunedol Gwynedd League (2 pm)
Waunfawr v Ogwen Tigers

Waunfawr will defend a 100% home record when Ogwen Tigers visit.
Tigers had a good win at Llanystumdwy last time out, so will have gained some confidence from that result.

Top Mark Uniforms North East Wales League (2 pm)
CPD Sychdyn v Mold Town United

Derby day at Wat’s Dyke Way.
Hosts Sychdyn will be out for a league double having beaten Mold 2-1 away back in August.
Both teams are on equal points, but Mold are two places higher than the villagers on goal difference.

Lucas Oil Anglesey League Huws Gray Megan Cup second round (1.30 pm)
Mountain Rangers v Holyhead Hotspur Res

Mountain Rangers (stripes) in action against Cemaes Bay

Rangers have already defeated Hotspur 4-2 at Rhosgadfan in the league this season.
Can they make it a home double in the Megan Cup? Hotspur have been excellent on their travels this term.
Both are doing well in the Anglesey League, Rangers in second spot and Hotspur just one position below.
