Llanfairfechan Town Ladies have announced the appointment of a new manager ahead of their first season in competitive football.
Sadie Richards, already a respected player within the club, now takes up the managerial reins for the ladies side, which will compete in the North Wales Recreational League this season.
Striker Sadie, who forms a dynamic partnership up front with Maddie Williams, suffered a bad knee injury in a game against Llysfaen in August. and has been ruled out of action until around Christmas time.
Now in the early stages of recovery, she has agreed to take on the lead coaching roles with the ladies set up.
The ladies campaign within the newly-formed North Wales Recreational League begins for the Fechan playing away at Eglwysbach on Sunday, October 13.
A Llanfairfechan Town club statement said: “The club would also like to thank Rhys Griffiths and Adam Parry for all their efforts in helping the ladies get off the ground and forming into a team.
“Both coaches will now focus on their roles within the men’s set up.
“Everyone at the club hope you can join us in wishing Sadie and the ladies team all the very best in their first competitive season.”
Since their first-ever game in August, which delivered a 5-1 win over Llysfaen, Llanfairfechan have produced some excellent performances and results, playing the likes of Eglwysbach, Bethesda Athletic and Henllan Hurricanes.
In their most recent friendly this week, Llanfair beat Eglwysbach Queen Bees 7-4, Maddie Williams netting five and Catherine Z Jones two.
