North Wales long-distance star Jon Evans, who last year completed his quest to run over 100 marathons, took part in an incredible series of five varied and very competitive races over this past week.
These included the Deiniolen ‘Beast,’ and four separate races across the weekend.
His first event was at the highly challenging Deiniolen 10k ‘Beast’ road race, which certainly which lived up to its reputation as ‘probably the hardest 10k race you’ll ever run’ – and is claimed to be the same elevation per mile as Snowdon!
Run this year in wet and murky conditions over very hilly country lanes, Jon finished 95th in (51.03), and just two days later, he was 3rd man in the equally challenging Salomon 5k trail challenge.
Less than 24 hours later he took part in the Ellesmere Port Parkrun finishing 3rd M50 vet and 17th overall in a great time of (23.03).
On Sunday though, there was still no stopping this remarkable athlete who then took part in both the 5k and 10k events at Port Sunlight to record further excellent results to finish 2nd in his age category in the 5k race (21.57), and (47.53) in the 10k race.
