Goal number 769 of Asa Thomas’ senior career secured the win which edged Boded up to second place in the Premier Division.
Captain Kevin Lloyd’s 10th goal of the season put Llanrug one-up after 11 minutes at Cae Ty Cristion, but the hosts were soon level when Thomas set up Jordan Taylor for the equaliser.
The winner came in the 53rd minute when Callum Hughes provided the assist and Thomas the finish for his ninth goal of the current campaign.
Boded are now just two points behind leaders Menai Bridge Tigers having played the same amount of matches.
Callum Evans scored the 68th minute goal that banked Cemaes Bay three points at Cae Rhosfain.
Tom Wood supplied the assist for Evans to notch his second goal of the season in this mid-table battle.
Gwalchmai chalked up their biggest win in many a year at the expense of struggling basement side Mynydd Llandegai.
Seventeen-year-old star Alex Cunningham notched his first hat-trick for the team, Cian Owen and Luke Llewellyn both scored twice, while Tony Roberts, Gethin Jones, Ryan Woodruff and Iwan Sawicz all struck once.
After five games without a win, Gwalch celebrated a first victory since mid-August and will have been delighted with the style in which they achieved it. This was nowhere near a club record victory, though – back in the 1980s, Gwalch beat Glantraeth 31-1 in the Anglesey League, recalls long-serving Maes Meurig legend Will Williams.
Alex Kalafusz, Jac Lewis, Aled Williams and Ashley Owen shared the goals in Vale’s comfortable victory over Bont, Mathew Roberts replying for the visitors.
Deion Hughes made it five goals in two games with a hat-trick in Penrhyndeudraeth’s thumping win over Llanystumdwy.
Cai Henshaw added a pair and Harri Davies a single for the home side.
Leaders Holyhead Town were made to work hard for a sixth straight league victory on Saturday.
In a tense opening, Town fashioned the first opportunity as Troy Patrick fired over on the volley. Sion Jones was next to go close with a sharp effort from long range.
Llangoed looked dangerous on the counter and created chances of their own.
After a high-energy start, it was The Puffins who took the lead on the break, Dylan Jones finishing from close range. Town thought they had found a quick equaliser when Gwynfor Owen put the ball in the net, but the goal was ruled out for a foul on the goalkeeper in the build-up. Llangoed almost doubled their lead shortly after, as Alan Owen’s diving header narrowly cleared the bar.
Just before the break, Holyhead’s Kane Astles was brought down inside the box to win a penalty. Astles calmly converted to level the score heading into half-time.
With the rain coming down, Town started the second half brightly. Tony Meyer saw a good effort cleared off the line as the pressure built.
Town took a deserved lead when Lewis Heywood’s shot rebounded into the path of Gwynfor Owen, who made no mistake.
It wasn’t long before the Harbourmen added a third. Declan Jones rose highest to head home from a pinpoint Mike Edwards corner.
Llangoed refused to go away and broke forward with purpose to pull a goal back for 3–2 through Kyle Daly. Steff Parry then produced a brilliant save to keep Town in front.
As the game neared its conclusion, Declan Jones’ flick-on found Gwynfor Owen, who broke away from the halfway line and slotted it neatly through the keeper’s legs for his second of the match to make it 4–2.
Llangoed were given late hope when Wayne Thomas pounced on a mistake to score from distance, but Town dug deep in the final minutes to see out the win.
