Women’s football: More new signings for Flint Town United, Pwllheli and Wrexham Foresters

Magi Pierce has joined Flint Town United

Further signings made in North Wales women’s football this week.

Magi Pierce (CPDM Henllan to Flint Town United)

Defender Magi has been a standout player for Henllan over the past two seasons, making 33 appearances for the team.

With Henllan’s senior side disbanding this term, Magi has joined Flint, but will not be available for much of the season due to studying away from the area. Nonetheless, she will be on call at times.

First team manager Becca Eagles said: “I’m really excited to be working with Magi this upcoming season. She’s a player who has impressed us throughout pre-season so far. Magi is an energetic player who works tirelessly both on and off the ball, and we’re delighted to have her with us.”

Magi’s former Henllan team-mate Beth Roberts also remains on Flint’s books, although she will also be away at university for much of the season.”

Heidi Condliffe (Bangor Under-17s to CPD Pwllheli)

Young talent Heidi joins Pwllheli from Bangor Under-17s.

Heidi began her youth football with Porthmadog Girls, where she established herself as a prolific goalscorer for the under-12s, U14 and U15s, finding the back of the net on countless occasions.

She then progressed to Bangor Under-17s, where she continued to develop her game, scoring 19 goals in a season-and-a-half and gaining confidence, experience and a greater understanding of football.

Now making the step into senior football, Heidi joins Pwllheli for her first season at senior level.

A club spokesman said: “A young, confident, fast and skilful player, she will be a fantastic addition to our attacking force, and we’re excited to see her continue her development in black and white this season.”

Maizie Johnson (Wrexham AFC to Wrexham Foresters)

Highly-rated young prospect who has spent the last two seasons represented Wrexham AFC Under-19s, making 22 appearances and scoring twice.

Foresters player-manager Kirstie Kural said: “Extremely happy to have Maizie with us this season.

“She is a talented youngster who is showing what she’s about in training and can’t wait for everyone to see it when the season starts. Quick, technical and can score a goal too. A coach’s dream.”
