Common sense at last in the Genero Adran Trophy draw!

CPDM Y Felinheli (red) will feature in the Adran Trophy group stage draw

Finally, common sense from the FAW regarding the women’s Genero Adran Trophy draw!

Previously, the draws massively favoured the eight Adran Premier teams by keeping them apart in the last 16 by seeding them.

However, from this season, the competition becomes an open draw at the knockout stage, meaning the top-flight clubs can draw each other.

Something which should have happened in the first place. Why make a competition that should be for all an ‘elite-favoured’ event?

The group stage draw for the 2026/27 Genero Adran Trophy will be broadcast on Cymru Football TV at 8pm on Wednesday 5 August.

The 16 clubs from the Genero Adran North and Genero Adran South enter the competition at this stage.

The eight clubs from the Genero Adran North will be drawn into two groups of four and likewise in the Genero Adran South. Each club will play everyone once in their group, before the top two clubs from each group progress to the Round of 16 where the eight Genero Adran Premier teams enter.

In a change to the competition this season, there is no longer seeding in the knockout rounds – meaning Genero Adran Premier clubs can draw one another.

The Genero Adran Trophy group stage matchdays are as follows:

Group stage matchday 1: Sunday 6 September 2026
Group stage matchday 2: Sunday 13 September 2026
Group stage matchday 3: Sunday 4 October 2026
