Wrexham Foresters have signed a top-class goalkeeper in their quest to take Tier 2 by storm in 2026-27,

Chloe Ankers, 19, joins the Adran North newcomers after learning her trade at Wrexham AFC over the past three seasons.

She was a regular in the highly-successful Wrexham Under-19 side which twice won the Adran North U19 League title.

Ankers made her Wrexham first team debut in an 11-0 Welsh Cup victory against NFA last November and was also between the sticks in the 4-0 next round triumph over Penybont.

In May, Ankers decided to put her playing career on hold to concentrate on coaching, but the lure of regular first team action has attracted her to the Foresters.

Player-manager of Foresters, Kirstie Kural, said: “Delighted to have Chloe on board. She slotted in with the girls straight away in training and it’s clear she’s a great fit.

“The right player and the right character. Exactly what we’re building here.”

Ankers said: “I’m grateful to be given this opportunity to play with a great group of people, meanwhile gaining more experience within the coaching environment.

“I’m excited to develop with an amazing group of girls and be part of Wrexham Forsters’ upcoming journey.”

Lexi Jones

Young talent Lexi Jones, 16, signs as a Wrexham Forester having developed as a junior with The New Saints.

Starting off with Mynydd Isa Under-12s, Jones moved to Buckley Town U14s and scored a hat-trick on her debut. She netted 37 goals for the U14s before elevating to the U15s, then at the beginning of 2025/26 she joined The New Saints.

Representing the TNS U17s, she notched 14 goals over the season.

Wrexham Foresters describe Lexi as having “serious technical quality, fearless on the ball, and exactly the kind of player we’re building around for Tier 2.”

More signings expected very soon.
