Newly-named FC Mountain are having a complete player clear-out.
All of the squad which represented the club in the JD Cymru North in 2025-26 have indicated they wish to leave.
The club has given the existing or impending departures their blessing and intend to rebuild from scratch in Tier 4 next season.
Some of the Mountain squad from last season have already found other clubs.
Kieran Owens and Luca Hogan have joined Cymru North club Mold Alexandra in the past couple of days, while Joe Ly has signed for CPD Y Rhyl 1879.
Mountain made the following statement: “As we will be competing in tier 4 next season, all players from last season’s squad have indicated they will be leaving the club.
“We would like to thank them all for their efforts last season and wish them the best of luck moving forward.
“Also, if any clubs are interested in any of the players, we will be happy to pass your contact details onto them.”
Last season, the club then known as Flint Mountain avoided the drop from the Cymru North, but this week it emerged they had plummeted two levels after their request for ‘elective relegation’ from Tier 2 was granted by the FAW.
Ruthin Town, who finished bottom of the Cymru North, have subsequently earned a reprieve, while Tier 3 Kerry and Connah’s Quay Town also avoid going down and stay in Ardal North East and West respectively.
FC Mountain, who it is believed have also been hit by a heavy FAW fine, will compete in Tier 4 in 2026-27, but in what league depends on where their home ground will be.
