New signing Evan Williams hit a maiden century for St Asaph in a high-scoring 15-run victory at Brymbo.
Opener Williams, who joined Saints from Conwy this season, made an outstanding 122 including nine fours and four sixes in his team’s imposing total of 277-9 off 50 overs.
Asaph won the toss and batted, Will Norman adding 46, but Evan Williams’ effort was by far the dominant knock, the new recruit at Elwy Park Grove departing when the visitors were 235-4.
For the hosts, Chris Taylor took 4-57 and Daniel Parry 2-37.
In reply, Brymbo slipped from 58-0 to 65-4, but opener Taylor survived the carnage and went on to make 108, his fifth century for the club and joint-second highest score in the North Wales League.
Taylor’s ton came off 84 deliveries and involved 12 boundaries and four maximums. When he was out, the Steelmen were better placed on 170-5, Taylor having shared in a fifth wicket stand of 105 with Henry Lunn who went on to make a superb 89 not out.
Sadly for Brymbo, the rest of their batting was not productive enough and they ended on 262-9, 16 short of victory. Will Norman and Robbie Prior both took 2-37 for Saints, who are still unbeaten and edged up to third. Brymbo have now fallen to back-to-back home losses.
The battle of the top two with 100 percent records went the way of visitors Menai Bridge.
Winning the toss and opting for first knock, the Anglesey travellers chalked up 248-9 off 50 overs, Ayush Verma hitting 60 off 46 balls with five fours and three sixes, Jack Gower 53 and Tomos Davies 48.
Openers Gower and Davies formed a parrtnership of 108, laying the foundations for a challenging away total.
Sam Lewis took 4-54 and Joe Lewis 2-47 for the hosts, whose response ended on 189 all out.
All-rounder Sam Lewis top-scored with 68, while for the Bridge, Callum Heath snapped up 3-23, Matthew Jones 2-30 and Verma 2-37.
Skipper Adam Campion produced a true captain’s innings of 102 not out as Mochdre dished out a heavy beating at Moor Lane.
Deciding to bat proved a good move for the visitors who amassed 277-5 off 50 overs, but were 90-4 before current and former skipper Campion and Joe Chaplin put on 149 for the fifth wicket.
Chaplin struck 78 off 75 balls, including seven fours and a six, while Campion recorded his 16th career hundred, striking 13 boundaries and a maximum.
Michael Wootton notched 2-54 for Hawarden, who were dismissed for 139, skipper Campbell Marr and Matt Gentry both making 31.
Sean Kitchen was Mochdre’s leading performer with the ball, collecting 4-17, James French bagging 2-34 in an 18-3, 138-run triumph.
Champions Bangor celebrated a first win of 2026 in some style at Chester Road.
Nathanael Scott banked his 16th league ton, hitting 127 including 20 fours, as the visitors rattled up 320-6 after choosing to bat first.
