Crozzy make it three straight wins by beating cup holders

Hat-trick star Lee Fallas of Crozzy FC

NORTH WALES COAST EAST LEAGUE – REPORT MAY 2

Division One
Crozzy 4 (Fallas 3, Davies)
Rhuddlan Town 2 (Liam Bowers, Patterson)

Lee Fallas was a hat-trick star as Crozzy continued their excellent end to the season with a victory over REM Jones Cup winners Rhuddlan Town at the Go Goodwins Stadium on Saturday.

In the only North Wales Coast East League fixture played on the day. Crozzy made it three straight wins and 10 points out of a possible last 12.

Joe Davies gave Crozzy the lead with an eighth-minute goal, the assist provided by Sam Rogerson, who repeated the feat when setting up Fallas for his first after 10.

Fallas scored again on 33 to make it 3-0 at the interval.

Town kept battling after the break and cut the deficit on 57 minutes when captain Liam Bowers delivered his 36th goal of the season.

Fallas completed his treble on 66 and Rhuddlan were really up against it when sub Jake Jones was dismissed for a second yellow with 80 gone.

To their credit, the Rhudds kept attacking and pulled a second goal back when young Riley Patterson benefited from an Evan Espley assist to net his 15th of the campaign.

Fallas’ hat-trick was his first since September 17, 2023, when he knocked in three for Llysfaen Development in a 10-1 victory.

After the game, a Crozzy spokesman said on social media: “A great result for us today against a team we’ve always fallen just short of. A strong start to the first half and 2 early goals enabled us to play some really good football. Rhuddlan showed why they’re cup winners by constantly attacking even when down to 10 men.”

Crozzy have two more league games left to play at home to CPD Henllan (May 9) and Prestatyn Wanderers (May 16).
