Three Mold Alex stars, Holyhead Hotspur and Rhyl pairs make North Wales squad

Holyhead Hotspur goalkeeper Guto Hughes

The Tîm Rhanbarthol Cymru squads for North Wales and South Wales have been confirmed ahead of their UEFA Regions’ Cup play-off matches.

The two sides will meet in a pair of games next month for the right to represent Tîm Rhanbarthol Cymru in the intermediate round of the 2026/27 UEFA Regions’ Cup in Bosnia-Herzegovina in September.

The first leg will take place at Trefelin’s Ynys Park on Saturday 2 May (KO 15:00), before the second leg at the Hollingsworth Group Stadium, home of Airbus UK Broughton, on Saturday 9 May (KO 15:00).

To be selected, players must never have signed a professional contract and never have played a single minute in any top-flight league. They must be at least 19 years old and no older than 39. Players do not need to be Welsh but must have been registered with the Football Association of Wales for a period of at least two consecutive years.

Newtown manager Nathan Leonard has kept to JD Cymru North players in his North Wales squad, with Caersws and Leonard’s former club Guilsfield best-represented with four players each.

Holywell Town defender Danny Sullivan is the only player in the squad to have won promotion to the top-flight this season, while the only player that Leonard has selected from his Newtown team is forward Jamie Hyne.
