Pwllheli maintained their push for third spot with a four-goal success over a Llanystumdwy side they have yet play one more time this season.
Revenge may have been on Pwll’s minds today, having lost 2-1 at Llan in the Bute Energy Welsh Cup in November, although the Llŷn Peninsula team had also won a League Cup clash at Parc Dwyfor 3-0 the month before.
Indeed, Llanystumdwy were the last team to defeat Pwll back in November, Erica Jones’ side having now gone 10 matches unbeaten since that day.
On the back of hard-fought draws against NFA and champions Llangefni Town, Pwllheli were on top from the start on Sunday, Jini Owen Hughes putting them in front with a 23rd minute penalty – her 12th goal of the season.
In the 35th minute Stacey Sansome fed a cracking through ball to Lois Thomas, who blasted a beauty into the top-left corner.
Three minutes before the break, Sansome’s shot was kept out by the impressive Sara Lacey, but Sian Moore was following up to grab her 18th goal this term.
Thomas made it 4-0 on 70 minutes with her 15th goal of 2025-26, dribbling from the left into the box and slotting home smartly.
Pwll were on the attack for much of the game, but Llan defended well, with keeper Lacey excellent.
Rebekah McGuinness scored a hat-trick for an NFA side which remains third in the table with one match remaining, away to Trearddur Bay next weekend.
The scoresheet was blank until a minute before half time when McGuinness broke the deadlock, Claire Smedley with the assist.
Seven minutes into the second half, Sade Benjamin was the supplier for McGuinness to score her second.
Kayla Hargreaves then got in on the act by making it 3-0 with a 63rd minute strike.
Sixteen-year-old prospect Megan Williams pulled one back for the Cofis on 65, but McGuinness had the last word when she completed her treble on 75, Rachael Thomas setting up the chance.
