North Wales Coast West League: Holyhead Town make cup final, Aberffraw two points from Division One title

NORTH WALES COAST WEST LEAGUE – APRIL 4
Cwpan Menai Tractors semi-finals
CPD Gaerwen 1 Holyhead Town 3
Holyhead Town pulled off an excellent win at Cae Rhosfain to set up a meeting with Mountain Rangers in the Menai Tractors Cup Final.
With Storm David in full effect, a tense opening saw neither side able to get to grips with the conditions.
Gaerwen looked threatening on the break and won a 29th minute penalty for a foul on Keiran Williams by Sion Jones. Jordan Pritchard fired home from the spot.
Town almost levelled when Sion Davies cut back to Craig Moore, who shot just wide.
With the half coming to end, The Auctioneers broke twice through Callum Thomas and Pritchard, but Steff Parry produced two brilliant saves to keep Town in the game.
Half-time: 1-0
Town started the second half with purpose and began to get on the ball pushing for an equaliser.
In the 57th minute, some quick thinking from Harbourmen keeper Parry released Davies on the left hand side. His through ball found Moore, who crafted a chance and finished well.
The visitors now stepped up their game and got a second straight after when Mike Edwards free-kick was turned in by Fesgie Osagie from close range.
In the 71st minute it was 3-1. A corner was swung in and fumbled by the keeper and hammered home by Declan Jones.
Holyhead now stood tall and shut up shop, but could have grabbed a fourth when an Osagie effort was deflected onto the bar.
CPD Mountain Rangers 3 Llanfairpwll 1
Mountain Rangers reached a second cup final of the season last Saturday.
Already through to the NWCFA Junior Cup Final, where they meet Llandyrnog United on April 18, the Cae Gors side also made the showpiece stage of the Cwpan Menai Tractors with a victory over Llanfairpwll.
The Anglesey side suffered an early blow with a third-minute red card for Dei Thomas.
Dion Griffiths nudged Rangers in front in the fifth minute, then Ben Aaron Davies made it 2-0 after 20 before Ashley Davies replied for the visitors on 28.
The tie stayed in the balance until three minutes into added time after the 90, sub Joshua Humphreys bagged a crucial third for the Caernarfon-area hosts.
