Women’s football: How are our Super 12 performing?

Sian Moore has been outstanding this season for Pwllheli

With the 2025-26 season not too far from its end, let’s take a look at how our Super 12 are performing.

Every season Grassroots North Wales chooses a group of women players who are worth watching out for in the campaign ahead.

Holly Owen Roberts (CPDM Bangor)

Holly ended her first Adran North season with CPDM Bangor on a high note with a goal in Sunday’s final fixture – a 2-1 victory at Berriew.

The 17-year-old midfielder has performed well in what has been a difficult campaign for the Citizens, but the potential is definitely there for better things next season.

Anna Jones (CPDM Y Felinheli)

Anna has shown her true versatility in recent weeks with a couple of fine displays as a stand-in goalkeeper for Felinheli.

For the most part, this hard-working midfielder has stood out in her traditional role for a team she joined at the start of the campaign. It is not just her efforts on the field, but her value to the dressing room which has made Anna a hit at Cae Seilo.

Lexi Walsh (Connah’s Quay Nomads)

After netting a stunning 32 goals in 15 games for North Wales Coast League title contenders Kinmel Bay, this 17-year-old signed for Adran North champions Connah’s Quay Nomads in February.

Has made three appearances for the Nomads so far, but yet to make the scoresheet despite some promising showings.

Elin Roberts (CPDM Bangor)

Elin Roberts (blue – 9)

Joined CPDM Bangor in November after beginning the season at Llangefni Town, where she made seven substitute appearances.

Has featured in eight games for Bangor to date and this 19-year-old striker will be aiming to shine in her second season with the Adran North club.

Hannah Owen (Llandudno)

Definitely one of the better players in a Llandudno side which has struggled to produce the form of past seasons in Adran North.

Has netted four times in 20 appearances and produced some great shifts for a team she joined from Llangefni Town this term.

Becca Eagles (Flint Town United)

Since becoming player-manager of Flint, the team’s performances and results under Becca have improved considerably, resulting in an assured third-place finish in Adran North.

In 16 appearances, this strong and skilful midfielder has notched four goals for the Silkwomen and inspired some great displays.

Magi Pierce (CPDM Henllan)

Henllan’s captain has netted two goals in 14 matches for the village side in their second season in senior football.

It has been a tough campaign competing in a strong North Wales Coast League with a small squad at their disposal, yet Magi has typified the fifth-place team’s fighting spirit which has brought them four wins.

Sian Moore (CPDM Pwllheli)

Prior to 2024-25, Sian had not scored for Pwllheli, but taking on a more attacking role brought her 11 goals last season and this term she has bagged 17, including an unconfirmed club record five in one game.

Sian is third-highest scorer in the NWCL this season with 14 league goals and her all-round play has been magnificent, with nine assists in total.

Menna Evans (CPDM Bangor)

Another season of progression for Menna, with four goals in 15 appearances including an absolute stunner against Y Felinheli.

This 20-year-old dazzler, an Ynys Môn Island Games cap, combines pace, power and tremendous shooting ability.

While 2025-26 has not been the best of seasons for CPDM Bangor, the potential is there for much better next time around and Menna should have a big part to play.

Beth Jones (Llangefni Town)

Beth Jones (blue)

Outstandingly consistent defender who has played in 18 of Llangefni’s 20 matches across all competitions this season.

Cefni are strong contenders for the North Wales Coast League title and their amazing record of just four goals conceded in 12 consecutive victories owes much to the defensive skills and determination of players like Beth.

Shelby Wild (Kinmel Bay)

When available she has been a leading figure in Kinmel Bay’s rise to the top of the North Wales Coast League.

Tremendously brave shot stopper who has made 11 appearances so far this season.

Elan Evans (Caernarfon Town)

Elan in yellow and green

Young striker has chalked up nine goals in 12 matches so far this season for a much improved Caernarfon side.

Seventeen-year-old Elan has hit hat-tricks in games against Kinmel Bay and Trearddur Bay.

In 32 total games for Caernarfon’s first team also going back to last season, the youngster has struck 24 goals.
